Description

Precision Power Upgrade for the Eversolo DMP-A8

Designed exclusively for the Eversolo DMP-A8

The LHY Audio LPS-A8 is a purpose-built linear power supply designed specifically for the Eversolo DMP-A8, delivering dramatically cleaner, more stable power than the factory switching supply. By eliminating electrical noise at the source, it unlocks higher levels of clarity, detail, and overall musical realism.

Why Upgrade the Power Supply?

In high-resolution streaming systems, power quality directly impacts performance. Switching power supplies introduce high-frequency noise and interference that can limit detail retrieval, reduce dynamic range, and affect overall tonal purity.

The LPS-A8 replaces this with a precision linear design—providing a cleaner electrical foundation that allows the DMP-A8 to perform at its full potential.

Ultra-Low Noise Performance

  • <10 μV noise (idle)
  • <30 μV noise (under load)

This represents up to a 100× reduction in noise compared to typical switching supplies, resulting in:

  • Blacker background and lower noise floor
  • Improved micro-detail and resolution
  • Greater dynamic contrast
  • Smoother, more natural presentation

Purpose-Built for the DMP-A8

Unlike generic linear power supplies, the LPS-A8 is engineered specifically for the Eversolo DMP-A8, ensuring optimal electrical matching, stability, and performance.

Each unit is hand-assembled by LHY Audio’s engineering team using carefully selected, high-performance components.

Premium Internal Design

  • Triple-shielded toroidal transformer for low-noise power delivery
  • Dual LT3042 ultra-low-noise voltage regulators
  • Silver-plated internal wiring for improved conductivity
  • Low ripple, high current capability and stable voltage regulation

This architecture ensures exceptionally clean DC output with minimal electrical interference—allowing the DMP-A8’s internal circuitry to operate with greater precision.

System-Wide Benefits

By removing switching noise from the power chain, the LPS-A8 not only improves the streamer itself but also reduces electrical contamination across your entire system.

  • Cleaner signal to downstream DACs
  • Improved system stability
  • Reduced harshness and digital glare
  • Greater overall coherence

Simple Plug-and-Play Upgrade

  • No permanent modifications required
  • Fully reversible installation
  • Includes required tools
  • Designed for easy DIY setup

What You Can Expect

With the LPS-A8 in place, the Eversolo DMP-A8 delivers a more refined and natural performance—featuring greater detail, improved timing, and a more stable, immersive soundstage.

A simple upgrade that delivers a clear and immediate improvement in overall system performance.

1 review for LHY Audio LPS-A8 Linear Power Supply for Eversolo DMP-A8

  1. iliyan Selenski (verified owner) –

I have been considering an LHY linear power supply upgrade for Eversolo DMP A8 (A8) to improve its streaming performance and overall sound quality.
I have already optimised my home network by using fibre optics to galvanically isolate the Roon Core and NAS infrastructure from the A8.
Rather than investing in another streamer, I would prefer to continue using the A8 as a streamer and focus future investment on an “endgame” DAC.

    The upgrade:
The LHY LPS is an impressive, high-quality product, and replacing the original Eversolo A8 SMPS and toroidal transformer was seamless and straightforward.
While some new sonic characteristics appeared almost instantaneously, I allowed sometime (roughly 200 hours) for the new power supply to fully break in.

After the upgrade, I perceived tighter, better-defined bass, greater micro-detail, and a more dimensional presentation, with improved depth and spatial layering.
These are, of course, my personal listening impressions and may vary between listeners and audio systems. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this upgrade if you enjoy using the Eversolo DMP-A8 and want to get the best possible performance from it.
